Henry Street Cobras Wrestle Staten Island

The Henry Street wrestling team the cobras travelled to Staten Island on Monday, December 14th to compete against Saint Joseph by the Sea’s wrestling team.

The Henry Street Cobras lost overall by three pins, but they earned experience which can only benefit them for further matches, they also seem really eager to redeem themselves.

The Henry Street wrestling team was nervous for their first ever match with another school, but they fought hard. The other team having more experience seem confident of a sure victory, but the cobras gave them a struggle with a few wins by default, and two victories by pin.

Henry Street got their first ever wrestling match win thanks to Isaiah Rodriguez, and first ever pin by Juni Medina.

The team encouraged each other with screams of pride every time a match occurs, and they never looked down on their teammates that loss, they just clapped it up for giving it their best.

“Even though we lost, I am still very proud that you gave it your all.” says Head Coach, Mr. DiGregorio about the Cobras performance.

Mr.DiGregorio has not appointed a next match yet, but has considered one after Christmas break ends. The wrestling team is also recruiting new members. Contact Mr.DiGregorio in room 438 for more information.
